Janet Clothier is the Founder and President of JSC Legal Accounting. She has been specializing in accounting and administration services, primarily for small law firms, since 1986. In 2015 she transitioned her firm into a virtual one, allowing all her team members to work from home. When COVID-19 hit in early 2020, this enabled JSC Legal Accounting to assist clients effectively and efficiently during the lockdown. With the depth of experience she has developed from so many years in law firm accounting, Janet is well positioned to take on any small law firm’s requirements, no matter how complex.

 

When she is not working, Janet is paddling, training and racing on outrigger and dragon boat teams, both in Vancouver and around the world.

Heather started with JSC while a student in the BCIT Accounting program a few years ago and has immersed herself into the legal accounting field. Navigating through JSC’s diversified clientele and managing their ongoing and everchanging needs has been especially enjoyable.

 

Outside of work, Heather enjoys trail running with her dog, Daisy, and tries not to get lost in the woods too often.

Alena brings a background in Administration to the JSC team. Her previous administrative experience ranges from a boutique fitness club to a tech start up company. She is excited to be joining us at JSC Legal Accounting where she will bring her attention to detail, enthusiasm for efficiency and communication and passion for supporting team goals.

Alena enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, music, dancing and reading.

Kari joined the JSC family in 2024. She brings previous experience from both bookkeeping and managing positions, such as a bookstore and a counselling office. She enjoys solving puzzles and writing stories in her down time.

 

Kari lives in Langley with her loving dog, and two geckos. She enjoys going to the dog park and spending time with her family.

Sarah has been working with JSC for almost a decade now, learning the legal accounting ropes from the ground up. She enjoys working with numbers and the challenge of making it all balance.

 

And if you want to talk baseball, Sarah is always available.

Joey recently joined JSC Legal Accounting in 2023.  She is a certified payroll professional, with 30 years of experience, and has volunteered with the National Payroll Institute for the last 6 years.  Joey is well-equipped to take on any small law firm’s payroll requirements.

 

Now that her 3 children have reached adulthood, Joey has more time to enjoy gardening, cycling, and paddling on her home turf, Gabriola Island.

Alicia has been with JSC for almost eight years and enjoys working with the team. She has spent many years as a legal assistant in Vancouver and has now added Legal Accountant to her resume!

Alicia lives in Burnaby and enjoys travelling in her spare time.

Summer joined the JSC family in 2024. She has more than 7 years bookkeeping experience in law firms before being a member of JSC team. She would devote her enthusiasm for efficiency and accuracy in accounting.

Summer enjoys playing tennis after work.
